"My method to paint portrait requires
only two fires to be finished.

The first two days,
we will paint the 1st fire.

The third day,
we add washes
 and the portrait will be finished".

Mariela Villasmil-Kaminski, a well-known Venezuelan artist, obtained a bachelor degree in Fine Arts from The Cecilio Acosta Catholic University with specialization in  how to teach art and thesis about Museology and Museography. Since 1996 Mariela has dedicated herself to teaching seminars in many countries.

In 1999 she worked for Vatican Museum and was honored to paint a portrait of Pope John Paul II as a special order. The year 2000 brought her work for The International School of Decorative Arts in Milan, Italy.
Mariela’s works are exposed in Limoges Museum, France; The Fire Arts Museum, Nova Milanese, Italy; and many private galleries in Italy, Germany, France, USA, Venezuela and Poland. She was recognized by many international organizations receiving prizes, among them Gold Ribbon granted by IPAT, INC. at  the International Exposition and Competition in Richmond, VA (1998); 1st Premium, Category: Human Figure at 6th Biennial Convention of Fire Arts, Como, Italy.

Her unique and very realistic technique to paint portraits on porcelain is inspired by a long friendship and collaboration with Manuel Filipe Pereira.
