Porcelain Art School-South 2011 Seminars in the fine art of painting on porcelain and glass. Bonclarken, Flat Rock, NC WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!! For 40 years the Late Virginia Douglas and, her husband John, owned and operated a Porcelain Painting School at the Bonclarken Conference Center. The school was always referred to as the ‘Bonclarken School’ or Virginia Douglas School’ and many artists have wonderful & inspiring memories of their time spent at the school. For the first time, PAS-South is attempting to revive the Bonclarken School and hope many of the artists who loved the school will join us in 2011 at PAS-South, Bonclarken. For those who have never been to Bonclarken we will do our very best to make your first visit to Flat Rock, NC & Bonclarken a truly enjoyable and memorable experience just as we will for those who attended classes during Virginia Douglas’ time as School Director. Of course we can never replace Virginia, but we hope, with your help, to make the school as successful as she and John did. Bonclarken is a beautiful location and a very relaxing atmosphere for study, getting to know other porcelain artists while learning new techniques or perhaps honing your skills in painting your favorite subject. We are sure you will be inspired by our teaching staff as well as enjoy the mountain scenery and the beautiful fall colors as the trees should be at their peak. We are talking with the Bonclarken Conference Center about scheduling the 2012 classes in late August or early September to give our attendees more time to return to their painting studios and create lots of beautiful seasonal painted pieces in time for the Holidays.
